TechnoServe is hiring a Program Director to lead AgEMERGE (Agricultural Enterprise-led Market Ecosystems for Resilience, Growth and Equity), a five-year programme funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, based in Nairobi.

🌍 What AgEMERGE is doing: Rather than working directly with farmers alone, the programme strengthens the businesses in the middle of the value chain — aggregators, processors, traders, logistics — that connect farms to markets. Across mostly Arid and Semi-Arid Land counties, it aims to reach around 85,000 farmers, pastoralists, and MSMEs, at least half of them women and youth.

💼 In this role, you'd:
🎯 Lead the programme's market-led strategy across three corridors: Commercial Growth, Adaptive Crops, and Coastal-Northern
💰 Oversee a Local Investment Facility disbursing milestone-based grants and co-investment to local businesses
🤝 Build Dutch commercial partnerships, connecting Kenyan market actors to Dutch capital, technology, and expertise
🌱 Embed gender equality, climate resilience, and nutrition across every part of the programme
🏛️ Serve as the main link to the Netherlands Embassy, the Government of Kenya, and the wider consortium

📋 Strong fit if you have:
✅ A Master's in agriculture, agribusiness, economics, or a related field, plus 8 years of relevant experience (or a Bachelor's with 12 years)
✅ Real experience leading large teams as a Team Leader, Chief of Party, or Program Director
✅ Experience with EKN, Dutch, or European donor-funded projects is a strong plus
