π #FundingWednesdays | 3Β grants. US$75,000 each. For the scientists working on technologies that could pull carbon out of the sky, or cool a warming planet, and want to test them responsibly.
The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF) is open for its sixth grant round, supporting innovators worldwide who are preparing small-scale field tests of new climate-intervention technologies.
π What CIEIF funds: Not the technology itself, but the groundwork that makes testing it safe and trusted. Before a new climate intervention goes into the field, someone needs to ask: what could this do to local ecosystems? How will nearby communities be affected? What do regulators need to know? CIEIF pays for exactly those answers.
πΌ Your US$75,000 can cover:
π¬ Environmental impact assessment for your proposed field test
π Predictive modelling of environmental and social impacts
π€ Engagement with affected stakeholders, from local communities to government agencies
π Strong fit if you:
β Are developing an innovative climate-intervention technology that's close to small-scale field testing
β Can show prior research proving it's ready to test, and that it could scale to a climate-relevant level
β Are willing to publish your results, peer-reviewed or externally reviewed
β Can apply in English (maximum 20 pages)
π IMVELO Impact: Some of the boldest climate solutions will be tested in the Global South, on its coasts, soils and forests. Africa's communities deserve a seat at that table before the first experiment begins, not after. Funding that puts impact assessment and community voice first is exactly the kind of climate innovation the continent should demand.
π Location: Open worldwide
π° Grant size: US$75,000 (three awards)
β° Deadline: 1 December 2026 (decisions by 1 February 2027)
