🌱 #JobHuntMondays| One Acre Fund is hiring an Extension Lead in Malawi to shape how farming advice reaches, and works for, smallholder farmers.

🌍 What One Acre Fund is doing: In Malawi, One Acre Fund provides more than 600,000 farmers in the southern region with quality farm inputs and training, from its office in Zomba.

💼 In this role, you'd:
🧭 Own Malawi's agronomy and extension strategy, turning it into yearly plans and budgets
👩🏾‍🌾 Turn technical farming advice into simple, practical guidance farmers can actually use
🔬 Use human-centred design, farmer feedback and impact data to test and refine recommendations
🎓 Strengthen field teams through training-of-trainers and coaching
📊 Track farmer adoption and lead seasonal reviews on what to continue, adapt or stop
👥 Build and lead a high-performing team

📋 Strong fit if you have:
✅ A degree in agronomy, crop science, agricultural extension, sociology, anthropology, design or a related field
✅ 5+ years in agricultural extension, human-centred design, behaviour change or rural marketing
✅ Experience developing or scaling farming recommendations or extension programmes
✅ Strong Excel skills (R or Stata a plus) and confidence using data to make decisions
✅ Ideally, experience working with smallholder farmers

💚 IMVELO Impact: Good farming advice only matters if farmers adopt it. Extension done well is how climate-smart practices move from research reports into real fields, protecting soils, harvests and incomes.

📍 Location: Zomba, Malawi
🛂 Eligibility: Citizens or permanent residents of Kenya, Malawi, Ethiopia, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and DR Congo
⏳ Start date: As soon as possible
⏰ Deadline: 16 December 2026 (applications reviewed on a rolling basis, so apply early)
