This #StudyTuesdays, we’re highlighting a PhD Scholar opportunity with CIMMYT in Kiboko, Kenya, focused on Rapid Cycling and Predictive Breeding. 🌱🔬 The research explores how AI-assisted breeding, genomic prediction and rapid cycling can accelerate the development of improved, climate-resilient crop varieties for dryland farming systems.
The scholarship supports tuition, research activities and a stipend, with the research expected to run for 3–4 years, subject to university registration and project funding.
🎓 Who is this for? Candidates with a Master’s in Plant Breeding, Quantitative Genetics, Statistical Genomics, Crop Science or a related field, with strong interest in predictive breeding and data analysis using R and/or Python.
