💧 #JobHuntMondays| The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is hiring a Shelter and WASH Technical Officer in Jowhar, Somalia, to design and build community infrastructure that can stand up to climate shocks.

🌍 What NRC is doing: Along the Shabelle River, NRC is building and rehabilitating boreholes, water supply systems, river embankments, footbridges and markets under its KOBAC and SHF programmes, working closely with communities, partners and local authorities.

💼 In this role, you'd:
🌊 Design climate-resilient, flood-adaptive infrastructure for riverine communities along the Shabelle
🔍 Lead site investigations, topographic and hydrological surveys, and structural and hydraulic designs
🚰 Supervise construction, borehole drilling and water system installation to quality and safety standards
📑 Manage tenders and contracts, from technical drawings and bills of quantities to contractor payments
🤝 Train assistants, contractors and community members in construction supervision and maintenance

📋 Strong fit if you have:
✅ A university degree in water, civil or environmental engineering, or hydrology
✅ At least 3 years of WASH and Shelter experience in a humanitarian or recovery setting
✅ Hands-on skills in hydraulic design, borehole drilling supervision and water quality testing
✅ AutoCAD, WaterCAD or similar design software skills (highly desirable)
✅ Fluent English and Somali, with knowledge of the Jowhar and Middle Shabelle context

🎯 This is a national role, open to candidates eligible to work in Somalia.
